LIVE BACTERIA THAT DIGEST ORGANIC WASTE
BIOCLEAR contains specially selected, live enzyme-producing bacteria that help break down fish poo, uneaten fish food, fallen leaves and decaying plant material. The bacteria release enzymes that break complex organic matter into smaller components, which they then absorb and use for energy and growth. This natural process helps reduce the organic waste that builds up in your pond or dam.
HELPS LIMIT THE NUTRIENTS THAT FEED ALGAE
Organic waste contains nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus that can fuel algae growth. As beneficial bacteria grow, they take up some of these nutrients, helping compete with algae for its available food supply. Used alongside good pond care, BIOCLEAR can help manage the conditions that encourage excessive algae growth.
SUPPORTS CLEARER WATER & IMPROVED WATER QUALITY
By helping digest organic waste, BIOCLEAR targets a source of murky water, sludge and unpleasant odours. Its biological action supports clearer water and helps manage the organic build-up that affects the condition and appearance of your pond or dam.
LESS ORGANIC BUILD-UP, EASIER MAINTENANCE
Regular use helps break down organic material before it accumulates into thick layers of sludge. This can reduce the amount of waste requiring manual removal and make routine pond maintenance easier. For best results, use alongside appropriate aeration, removal of larger debris and sensible fish feeding.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WATER CARE
BIOCLEAR works with nature, using live bacteria and the enzymes they produce to digest organic waste. Formulated without corrosive chemicals, added colours or fragrances, it offers a biological approach to keeping pond and dam water clearer.
SUITABLE FOR FISH & AQUATIC ENVIRONMENTS
Designed for use in ponds and dams containing fish and aquatic life when used as directed. BIOCLEAR supports natural waste breakdown as part of a well-maintained aquatic environment.

Directions
Directions for Use
BIOCLEAR is a concentrated live bacterial treatment containing 100 million colony-forming units (CFU) per mL. Regular application helps maintain beneficial bacteria that break down organic waste and support clearer pond and dam water.
BIOCLEAR can be applied manually or through a suitable automatic dosing system.
1. Determine Your Pond’s Water Volume
Choose the appropriate dose from the table below. Calculate the volume as accurately as possible before treatment.
For a rectangular pond, estimate:
Length × width × average depth in metres × 1,000 = water volume in litres.
For irregular ponds and dams, use an appropriate volume calculator or contact BioEnzymes for assistance.
2. Prepare for Treatment
Remove accessible fallen leaves, uneaten food and larger pieces of debris. This reduces the amount of waste the bacteria need to break down.
Shake the BIOCLEAR bottle well before measuring each dose. Use a clean measuring container and bucket free from detergent or disinfectant residue.
3. Measure the Required Dose
| Pond water volume |
Regular dose every two weeks |

| Up to 2,000 litres |

For larger ponds or dams, contact BioEnzymes for dosing advice.
4. Dilute & Apply
Mix the measured dose with 1–5 litres of pond water in a clean bucket. Prepare only the amount needed for the current application.
Slowly pour the mixture into an area with good water circulation, such as near a waterfall or pump return, to help distribute the bacteria throughout the pond.
For still ponds, distribute the diluted mixture across several accessible areas and gently agitate the water for several minutes. Avoid disturbing deep sludge.
5. Maintain Circulation & Aeration
Keep existing pumps, biological filters and aerators operating during and after treatment.
Fish and beneficial bacteria both require oxygen. Adequate ongoing aeration is particularly important during warm weather, in heavily stocked ponds or where substantial organic waste has accumulated. Brief agitation after application helps distribute the product but does not replace ongoing aeration where oxygen levels are low.
6. Repeat Every Two Weeks
Apply the regular dose every two weeks to support continued organic waste breakdown.
For the first treatment of a new pond, use double the regular dose shown in the table to help establish beneficial bacteria within the pond and filter. Return to the regular dose after two weeks.
Allow time for biological action. Results depend on water conditions, circulation, temperature and the amount of organic waste present.
Automatic Dosing Systems
An automatic dosing system can help maintain a consistent treatment routine. Contact BioEnzymes for advice on compatible equipment, reservoir preparation and dosing settings suited to your pond volume.
For Best Results
- Remove larger debris regularly and avoid overfeeding fish.
- Maintain appropriate filtration and aeration.
- When filling or topping up with mains water, use a suitable pond conditioner as directed to neutralise chlorine and chloramine.
- Check compatibility before combining BIOCLEAR with algaecides, disinfectants or fish medications.
- For new fish ponds, continue normal water testing and filter maturation procedures before adding fish.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep the remaining concentrate in its original container and shake well before each use.
